Lisa Martinez

Lisa Martinez is doctoral student in the inaugural class at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Her general areas of interest include child obesity, physical activity, and health disparities. Her dissertation explores the relationship of physical activity and academic achievement in low-income, Mexican heritage, elementary school children. Lisa graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Psychology. She also attended California State University of Sacramento where she earned her R.N. and B.S. in Nursing. She has worked as an R.N. and an Assistant Nurse Manager on the telemetry and step down units at Kaiser Sacramento and has been involved in several committees ranging from the reduction of infectious diseases to the promotion of employee wellness.
