Michele Byrnes

Michele Byrnes has worked in the health field for the past 10 years in areas such as personal training, physical rehabilitation, health coaching and as a community health advisor in Malawi, Africa. Over the years, she has enjoyed helping others live a healthier lifestyle, whether that meant assisting in weight loss goals, tobacco cessation, promoting good hygiene practices, or improving food security in under-served populations. Michele is pursuing her Master of Public Health degree at UC Davis were she is focusing on chronic disease prevention. She is currently working as a Graduate Student Researcher on the Niños Sanos, Familia Sana project where she is assisting in the development and evaluation of the learner-centered curriculum delivered to parents whose children are participating in the study. Michele is also interested in finding improved ways to translate research into public health action.
